The right preparation for your child’s stage

From building early confidence in Year 3 to sitting GCSE mocks in Year 11, Cour.pro UK meets children where they are. Here’s what’s covered at each stage — and what success looks like.

Ages 7–8 · Year 3

Foundations and a love of learning

Year 3 is about building rock-solid basics and a positive relationship with practice — long before any exam pressure. Sessions are short, playful and confidence-first.

What success looks like: your child practises happily a few times a week, gains fluency in number facts and reads with growing confidence, and starts to see mistakes as a normal part of learning.

Ages 8–9 · Year 4

Core skills, with reasoning introduced gently

Year 4 strengthens the curriculum basics while introducing the verbal and non-verbal reasoning that the 11+ relies on — in small, friendly doses. The aim is familiarity and curiosity, not pressure.

What success looks like: confident recall of times tables, comfort with fractions and multi-step word problems, and an early ease with reasoning puzzles — setting up a calm, unrushed start to 11+ work in Year 5.

Ages 9–11 · Years 5–6

Full 11+ preparation across all four strands

This is the heart of Cour.pro UK: complete, adaptive 11+ preparation in GL- and CEM-style formats, building from foundations in Year 5 to exam-ready confidence in Year 6.

Maths

Arithmetic fluency, fractions, decimals & percentages, ratio, algebra basics, geometry and multi-step problem solving.

English

Comprehension, inference, vocabulary in context, spelling, punctuation, grammar and cloze exercises.

Verbal reasoning

Codes, analogies, word relationships, hidden words, letter sequences and the full GL/CEM question-type range.

Non-verbal reasoning

Patterns, rotations, reflections, series, matrices and spatial reasoning, with strategies for each type.

What success looks like

By the time exams approach, your child works confidently across all four strands, manages their time under exam conditions, and recognises question types instantly. Timed GL- and CEM-style mock papers show a steady upward trend, and our gap analysis confirms the few remaining weak spots have been closed. Just as importantly, your child walks in feeling calm and prepared rather than anxious.

Ages 14–16 · Years 10–11

GCSE revision with mocks and clear targets

Focused, exam-board-aware revision for the core GCSE subjects, with full mock papers, mark schemes and indicative grades to guide where effort pays off most.

GCSE Maths

Number, algebra, ratio & proportion, geometry, probability and statistics, at Foundation and Higher tier.

GCSE English

Language and Literature: reading, analysis, structured writing and exam technique for each paper.

GCSE Science

Biology, Chemistry and Physics core content with required-practical recall and exam-style questions.

What success looks like

Your teenager revises efficiently rather than endlessly — the engine steers them to the topics most likely to lift their grade. Regular mocks track progress against target grades, gap analysis turns a disappointing paper into a precise to-do list, and exam technique improves alongside subject knowledge.

Grade indicators support revision planning and are not official predicted grades.
